Happy Birthday Daddy!

Honey, I can't believe you are 31 on the 31st!  You OLD man! hahaha!  Don't worry, I'm not that far behind you! You are the best Daddy and husband that anyone could wish for!  You make us proud and give us a great life!  The best gift that you have given me (besides Crew obviously!) is the opportunity to be a stay-at-home Momma and I will never be able to thank you enough!  I know that it means a lot to both of us and I know Crewsie Bear really appreciates it :)  We have been together for over 13 years and sometimes it's hard to believe.  I love all of the memories that we have created so far and can't wait to continue to build more memories with our children!  Love ya babe and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Pancakes, wineries, and tractors...it was a FUN weekend!

Sunday morning was Crew's official 2nd birthday, so I made his favorite...pancakes and sausage!  Friday morning Crewsie and I headed to Romp n' Stomp...I think he would love it if we went there everyday!  Friday night we went to Main Street with my parents...just the four of us (we had not gone out with my parents just the four of us in ages!).  Aunt Taytay babysat and Crewsie loved it!  Thanks Aunt Tatie!  Saturday Daddy worked on the boat (yes, we bought a boat!...pics to come once it's done!...we bought a smaller 17' boat that we can trailer to different lakes to sail!).  And then Saturday night we met Popa, Yaya, Aunt Tay and Uncle Joe out at Silvercreek Winery for a little vino!  Then Sunday we celebrated Crewsie's big day!

Helping Momma make the pancakes!
 Happy birthday big boy!
Popa and Yaya got Crewsie his first John Deere tractor!  He LOVED it!
Loved his new John Deere shirt and hat too!  His new tractor is awesome...it even has it's own FM radio!
He totally got the hang of pushing down the gas, but we are still working on the steering!
 Elmo cake!

Our baby is 2!!! Happy birthday sweetheart!

I love you my sweet baby boy!  When I see your smiling face or hear your little laugh it makes my heart melt!  You are the light of our lives and make every day better and brighter!  Two years ago today was the best day of my life and I don't know how it's possible, but I love you more and more each day!  I will never be able to tell you how much I love you...my little soul mate!  WE LOVE YOU CREW!!!  HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY!!!

Crew's 2 year update!

Okay, so I know this next week is going to be crazy between Crew's real birthday this Sunday, Daddy's birthday on the 31st, and Crewsie's big birthday party next weekend so I decided to sit down and write his 2 year update today!

*Crewsie loves to help...whether it's helping me in the kitchen stirring, pouring, etc...when he sees us cleaning or sweeping he grabs another rag and wipes off tables...maybe it is more like he imitates what we are doing! And he loves to make cookies (and eat the dough!)

*Crew is the most affectionate little man ever!  He always wants to give hugs and kisses and is just a doll baby with other kids.  He especially loves little girls and always points them out when he sees them..."gurls, gurls!"  Although, sometimes he catches kids off guard because he will come up behind them to give them a hug.  This morning at Romp n' Stomp he was giving a little girl a hug and the Mom asked if he had a younger brother or sister because he was being so sweet!  I said "Not yet!"...I sure hope this continues when he does become a big brother :)

*He is a great little talker and continues to put more and more words together. Like "Tiki, no bark!" or "Momma, get up!" or "Bo, bo dirty dogggg!" haha!

*Overall he has done fairly well with the big boy bed. He will sleep 4 or 5 nights really good and then he will get up one night and call for me. But, overall not too bad for his age. I have to admit that I miss putting him in his crib and not worrying whether he was going to get up. He was such a good "crib sleeper" and I miss that! He continues to take great naps though and he loves his big boy bed and loves cuddling up in it!

*He is not 100% potty trained, but he is doing AWESOME! He wears only big boy underwear at home and it has been that way for quite some time now. He wears a pull-up for his nap (because he usually still takes between a 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 hour nap) and a diaper to bed. He goes potty at Yaya and Grammy's and will even go at stores and restaurants...although, usually I'm paranoid and when we are out I still wear a pull-up on him. When we get home from shopping or eating he is usually still dry, so that's a great sign. I have to say that I LOVE not having to change poopy diapers anymore!

*He loves doing little crafts and his attention span is pretty darn good for a 2 year old. He loves coloring with markers and stamps.

*He continues to love his bath and playing in the tub.

*Crew is wearing a size 8 shoe, but we went to Stride Rite last week and they said to buy 8 1/2 or 9's for this summer! He wears a size 3T or 4T shirt depending on the brand...wears 24 month or 2T pants/shorts...wears size 3T big boy underwear and size 5 diaper to bed.

*Crewsie continues to also be a great eater...there are times when he is picky, but overall he eats a pretty balanced diet. He loves any kind of fruit and loves when I make him a tomato, cucumber and crouton salad!
*He loves to get piggy back rides...loves to ride on peoples backs all of the time (especially Aunt Casey's!)

*He now wants to pick out his clothes and everyday he would wear jeans if I allowed him.  He has even started to try and dress himself!

*Crew's favorite toys are his stuffed animals, trucks/cars and balls.

*He LOVES music...and I mean LOVES music!  And he likes all types of music...blues, pop, classical piano stuff, rap, etc.  He hears a pop song and he will hop and grove to the beat...if he hears a soft piano song he will sway back and forth...it is hysterical!  He has loved music from the time he was a baby and I hope this continues!  I know it's too soon for guitar lessons, but hopefully one day!

*He doesn't watch hardly any t.v.  The only thing that he likes is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  He would much rather listen to music then watch a show...which is just fine with me!

*He likes to brush his teeth (of course with Momma or Dada helping) He loves looking in the mirror in the morning and at night after he is all cleaned up, teeth brushed, hair combed and smiles like "Ahhh, that felt good!"  We have also recently started to floss his teeth with the little kid flossers...although, he has plenty of space between his teeth...we just want him to get used to flossing!

*He loves referring to himself as Crew although sometimes it sounds more like "Cew!"

*He is getting good at knowing his colors and shapes...he especially knows blue, yellow, and red and knows the "heart" shape and always points it out...he also does this with stars!

*Our doctors office doesn't see kids right at their 2nd birthday (I guess they like to wait until they are 25 or 26 months), so i'm not sure what his official height and weight will be!  The last time he was on our scale he was about 30 lbs. 6 ozs.!

Birthday Celebrations...

We started off this morning headed to McDonald's for Crewsie's little birthday party with our Mommy's group!  They have a great play area and Crew was able to run off some energy while playing with his little friends!  Crew and one other friend, Tyler, celebrated their 2nd and 3rd birthdays!  We had cake and then some stayed to eat lunch...we had to run because Crewsie was getting his hair cut!

Eating some cake with Annabelle!
Some of the other kiddos...it was hard to get them to stop playing to eat the cake!
Crew's "before" pic of his hair this morning before we left!
"After" shot!  He looks so handsome!
Daddy and Uncle Blake were making fun of me because I wouldn't take him to get his hair cut...I finally caved because he was really starting to look like a little ragamuffin! I have to admit that he looks so much cuter! We went to the little old fashioned barber shop in town. The same girl that used to cut Daddy's hair when he was in highschool cut Crew's hair. She was awesome and did a great job! If anyone is looking for a place to take boys to get their hair cut I highly recommend her! Prices are great and she was fast...which is great for a little one! Crew did sooooooo much better this time then the last...he didn't whine or fuss at all...just sat there and sucked on his sucker!

 Chewin' on his dragon...
Trying to get a shot of the back of his little head!
The other day we bought a little Easter tree and Easter eggs.  I love doing little crafts with Crewsie and he seems to enjoy it too!
Cost of tree   $1.00
Cost of eggs  $0.77
= a lot of fun
(cheap entertainment and educational because we were learning colors!)
Carefully placing the little eggs on his tree!
All done and sitting on our mantle next to his Easter Bunny!

St. Patty's Day...

We had a great St. Patty's Day last week...we celebrated with a little dinner at Rockne's!  Crewsie was getting into the spirit of things by wearing his little hat and shamrock necklaces!
We have been having some nice weather on and off the last couple of weeks.  The other day we were able to get out and enjoy it!  Crew absolutely loves being outside and I love that he can run off some of his energy!
Waving "Hi, Momma!"
Cowboy Crew is gearing up for his 2nd birthday party next weekend!  This Sunday on his actual birthday we are celebrating at Yaya and Popa's.  Yaya offered to have dinner and a little cake on his real birthday!
And another pic of  "Gee, I wonder who got the camera!?"  I have to admit that I love the pic of his chubby little foot...notice I'm the once sitting in the office chair, so I guess this time it's my fault ;)
