Rolling Ridge Ranch...

I had been hearing about this place for a while and decided that we needed to check it out for ourselves.  So last Wednesday Crewsie, Grammy, and I headed down to Amish Country to Rolling Ridge Ranch!  It was supposed to be about a 45-60 minute drive, but ended up being 1.5 hours!  Let me tell you, there are many, MANY unmarked roads in Amish Country along with winding roads and horses and buggies to watch out for!  It was a bit of an adventure, but we finally made it and it was well worth the drive.

This place was AWESOME!!!  You take a horse-drawn wagon around 80 acres of land and it was like we were in a different world.  It felt incredibly peaceful and relaxing (and a bit like Noah's ark!).  I knew Crew would love it, but I really didn't think I would like it as much as I did.  You start off riding through the woods and then wind around a lake, back through some woods and then a grassy pasture...and we picked a picture perfect Fall day!  The animals are very familiar with the wagons so they come right up and you get to feed them....and we fed them bucket, after bucket, after bucket of food!  We seriously probably went through 30 buckets of food during our wagon ride...Crew got such a kick out of it!  After the ride and walking around to see some of the other animals we headed to Der Dutchman for lunch (YUM!) and then stopped at NickAJack Farms on the way home (pics to come in a different post).
Crewsie petting some new ducklings...

There were lots of piggies...it made me not want to eat bacon :(

This guy was so funny...
Yes, he was literally licking my camera!
This guy was a character too!
There was another couple and there 2 year old on the ride...

Our tour guide would warn us when certain animals came up to the wagon...He would tell us to hang on tight to the bucket because they liked to steal them...sure enough we lost a few buckets!
Definitely an up close and personal experience...it was fantastic!

This was our tour guide.  He was great and very friendly and would laugh every time we lost a bucket to an animal...he started joking with us saying he was going to start charging $20 for each bucket dropped!  We would have owed about $200!
These little guys were so neat...they were half donkeys and half zebras...called Zedonks!!!  hahaha!  I asked him if it was done on purpose or by accident and he said on purpose!

This new little Zebra calf was running towards his Mommy...

I loved the guy with the blonde bangs!

We learned the moose was wallowing in mud because he was spreading his scent for the females!

I love the below pic with the animals coming across the hill...
Some of these animals had some strange names that I can't remember now!

Wildebeests!!!
He loved feeding the animals!

Camels!

Texas longhorn!
Grammy and Crewsie...

It was an awesome experience for all of us!
