Catch-up...

Lots going on around here and the countdown has begun for baby girl! She will be here in less than a month! I'm excited, thrilled, nervous, anxious...you name it and I've been through the emotion most likely! Here's a little recap of what's been going on lately!

Mommy reminiscing thru old pics, my furry be best friend, Crew's new Thomas mural, playing in sissy's room, yogurt shop fun, getting ready for Christmas pics, swimming with Mommy, tree is up (Crew decided on the lights!), a peek of baby girl, donuts and park dates with Mommy.

Christmas Parade...

Saturday, November 16th was our annual Christmas parade downtown.  This was the morning after our train ride, but Crew was up and at it and excited to see Santa in the parade.  He actually thought when he woke up this morning that Santa had come and there would be presents under the Christmas tree...like I said he's very excited this year!!!  Aunt Tay, Isla, and Yaya met us downtown and then we grabbed some lunch.

Isla had her Christmas pics taken by the photography studio downtown and she made the front window!  She's the little elf in the sleigh :)

Grammy's birthday...

Last Saturday we celebrated Grammy's 60th birthday with a little dinner and dessert!  Happy birthday Grammy!
Of course he had to help blow out the candles :)

The Polar Express!

All Aboard the Polar Express!!! This was our third year doing the Polar Express train ride to the North Pole! Crew really "got it" this year and it gave me so much enjoyment seeing how much fun he was having. This is the earliest we have gone...usually we go the first week or two in December. Honestly, I didn't want to be 38 weeks preggo on the train! Aunt Tay jokingly said "Oh come on, you don't want to be the first pregnant lady to give birth to an elf on the Polar Express!?!?" The short answer...HECK NO! I prefer a nice hospital room, an epidural, and for my doc to deliver the baby and not Santa Claus ;)
This year it was Me, Crewsie, Yaya and Grammy!

Shoveling popcorn!
The below pic is when Santa arrived!
Below is when we arrived at "The North Pole!" He was in awe. They make an entire village and decorate with tons of lights. And the elves are always on the streets waving to the kids and being silly!

He wouldn't let go of his golden ticket the entire ride (except to take a bite of popcorn!). I think he may have been more excited for the conductor to punch his ticket then he was to see Santa!?!?

Our little elf...

is very, VERY, VERY, excited about Christmas this year!!!  Daddy took these action shots as he was running around while we were decorating.  We are going a little "light" on the decorating this year because I'm 35 weeks preggo and will have a newborn baby in the house when all of the stuff needs to be put away at the end of December.  I don't think he will know the difference...quite honestly I think he would be happy with just the Christmas tree and his Santa hat :)

Sprinkle!

Last Saturday Aunt Taytay and Yaya had a little "sprinkle" for me (aka: small shower for baby girl!)!  I really appreciated all of the wonderful baby girl gifts we received!  She got so many adorable little outfits, tons of hair bows (YAY!), a new musical mobile, a new video monitor, stroller and lots and lots of other goodies!  It was a nice and relaxing evening!  I even got all of her clothes washed and organized...now we are just waiting for her big arrival :)
Like I said in a previous post, I've been horrible with pics lately.  Luckily Aunt Tay picked my camera up and took a few!  Although I really regret not getting one with everyone and especially not one of me with Tay :(
Don't I seem excited about hair bows!?!?  haha!  After having a boy first I was really looking forward to this :)
Peek-a-boo with Isla!  The little stinker already knows how to wave and patty cake...what a smart little cookie!
And crazy Aunt Casey....maybe her new nickname will be Aunt Crazy!?!  Thanks so much for everything guys...it was VERY much appreciated by me and baby girl!!!

Preggo update...

Well, I'm officially 34 weeks and 2 days along!  Not much exciting really going on with the pregnancy today.  Some days I have a ton of energy and I'm in major nesting mode and other days I'm pretty darn tired and don't feel like doing much of anything.  The last few days though I've had A LOT of energy.  I finished the nursery (pics to come soon!), organized and washed everything for the princess, spruced up Crew's room, even made a big dent in the Christmas shopping, and got done a lot of little projects that I wanted completed before baby girl arrives!  Feels great to check thinkgs off my list.

I haven't gotten around to it and I wanted to document on the blog that back at around 28 weeks I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.  I failed my one hour glucose test at 140 (I guess depending on what doctor you go to they fail you anywhere between 130 and 140).  So I just missed the mark and had to go back in for the three hour test.  Well, I was SHOCKED when the doctor office called me back and said I failed...BOOOOO!!!  I was so mad, sad, shocked, worried, etc., etc.  I really thought I would have no problems and the first test was just a glich because of what I ate prior to the appt.  I had only gained about 15 lbs. at this point (I gained, in total, 39 lbs. with Crew, so I thought I was doing so good this time around!), was active, eating pretty darn good, had no swelling and my blood pressure was great. Anyway, they draw four blood samples...my first number had to be under 95 (mine was 76...passed!), second number had to be under 180 (mine was 199...failed!), third number had to be under 155 (and guess what mine was 155...so failed!), and fourth had to be under 140 (mine was 81...passed!).  Regardless of how close I was the doctor still considered it a failed test....albeit very, very borderline.  I had to go visit a diabetic dietician and get a glucose meter and go over the gestational diabetes diet.  Honestly it hasn't been bad at all to follow the diet...the biggest thing I've had to change in my diet is adding protein.  I'm not a big meat eater so this has been the most challenging part.  I've been able to control my sugar through diet and exercise and my sugar numbers have been perfect (pray they stay this way!).

Baby girl is measuring on track and everything else looks good so far.  The most shocking part was when the doc told me I would have to be going in for weekly non-stress tests and most likely will have to be induced a week early.  She broke this news to me a few weeks ago and I admit I started crying in the office and just felt totally overwhelmed.  Not about the non-stress tests (although why do non-stress tests tend to stress people out!?!?) but because of being induced early.  I was four days past due with Crew and had to be induced, but I HATE the thought of being induced before my due date.  I was really, really hoping to go into labor naturally this time around.  The news has sunk in at this point and I will do whatever is best for baby and me....all I'm looking for is a healthy outcome for baby girl and me!  Oh, and the BIG news....we decided on a name, but its a secret!!!!  hahaha!!!
These pics are me at 33 weeks!

Halloween!

We had our annual little Halloween party last Saturday (normally trick-or-treat is always on Halloween, but it got moved this year because of Hurricane Sandy!).  Crewsie had so much fun running from house to house this year with his friends trick-or-treating!  I feel like we have been celebrating Halloween forever this year...haha!  We got all the decorations put away and now on to Christmas!
Frankenstein showed up this year (aka: Popa)!!!  The kids actually thought he was pretty cool and were not scared of him!
I didn't get any pics of the kids actually trick-or-treating (or many good pics overall)!  I've been a little lazy with the camera lately :(
I think Crewsie was pretty sugared up by this point!!!
Isla even got in on the action...she loved Crew's sword!
And there she goes!!!  Such a precious little munchkin!
