Popa & Yaya's Christmas Eve Eve Party!

My parents have been throwing a Christmas Eve Eve (December 23rd in case you thought I mis-typed!) for years now and it is always a very fun night!  This year Santa (aka: Uncle Blake, since he is one of Santa's elves and Santa was busy this night) even made a surprise visit.  There were a handful of little kiddos there and they all loved Santa's visit!  Thanks again for a fun night Popa and Yaya!

Popa's birthday brunch!

I can't believe it's January 11th and I'm just posting our December pics, but bear with me, please!

Popa's birthday was on Christmas day, but we have celebrated it early the past few years.  This year we celebrated it on Sunday, December 18th with a little brunch at Aunt Tay and Uncle Joes house.  We had a great time celebrating such a WONDERFUL Dad/Popa!

The yummy food!  Aunt Tay made the quiche and potatoes, Aunt Casey brought the fruit salad and I made the french toast casserole...makes my mouth water looking at all of that food!

This is the only snow we got before Christmas...crazy!  And as I'm typing we still don't have any snow...as a matter of fact we have been having 40 and 50 degree weather!

I took this video of crewsie a few weeks ago and for some reason it just makes me laugh every time I watch it! We had bought a couple of donuts in the morning and then later in the morning crewsie was sneaking trying to get another one. I tried to catch what he was doing bur missed it by a few seconds. He had one foot on the ground and his other foot up touching the countertop! Flexible like his momma...haha!

Crewsie being pulled around in his new sled!  He absolutely LOVED it and asks me everyday if we can go outside and ride in the sled :)  It is the perfect sled for a kiddo his age...can't wait to see it on a real sled riding hill!  The sled is from Mountain Boy Sledworks...click here to take a look at all of their sleds.  Makes an awesome keepsake.

I know I have been SO bad with posting pics the last couple of weeks, but I can at least post some ones from my phone!  Today (Monday, Jan. 2nd) we had our first real snow!  I can't believe that we made it all the way through December with basically no snow and actually 50 degree weather some days.  We had one small "dusting" of snow, but no accumulation and unfortunately no snow for Christmas.  Speaking of Christmas we had a great one and a nice quiet New Years....pics to come soon of our fun from over the holidays.

We got all bundled up today for some fun in the snow.  Crew got a new sled from Yaya and Popa that he wanted to try out.  We had a lot of fun and can't wait to go sledding down a BIG hill!

Crewsie on the Polar Express..

Dental check-up...

Crewsie had not been to the dentist since Sept. 2010 and Mommy was feeling guilty, so we scheduled a visit to a Pediatric Dentist.  He had been to my dentist and did great, but I thought going to someone who specializes in children would be best now that he was a little older.  His appointment was this last Monday and I was a little nervous as to how he would do...I was worried he wouldn't sit still and open his mouth!  Well, he did WONDERFUL!!!  The dentist was very impressed and said his teeth looked perfect...no cavaties, perfect spacing and we are doing a great job with flossing and brushing!  He goes back in about 6 months for his next visit and an official cleaning!

The dentist's office was decorated so colorful and very inviting for kids!

Yaya and Popa took Crewsie to breakfast Saturday morning and there happened to be a Santa there!

Cookies, cookies and more cookies...yum!

Another fun Christmas tradition...baking cookies every year! Last Saturday Yaya, Auntie Tay, Auntie Case and I all met at Yaya and Popa's house to make sugar cookies! Popa and Uncle Blake were there, but mainly to be the cookie "testers!" Zoey made an appearance too, but she didn't get to try the cookies :( Anyway, these sugar cookies are the best EVER and we always have fun making them...all 225 of them!!! That's about 19 dozen...CRAZY!!! This doesn't include all of the other kinds of cookies my sister and mom have made!!!

This recipe is delicious...it uses confectioners sugar (instead of regular sugar) and cream cheese...YUM! And of course Yaya's homemade icing, which is the best!
