Crewsie eating lunch (02-17-11)

A little video of Crewsie the day after he climbed out of his crib for the first time!  He has spent 5 nights in his crib and it has gone okay.  The first night was a little crazy, the second and third nights were great, but now the last two nights he has woken up calling for me.  Hopefully, we can break him of this habit!  We removed the headboard from the bed we put in his room because we thought that was more safe, but now I think he needs some type of padded/cushioned headboard.  I have noticed he hits his little head on the wall sometimes when he is moving around.  Maybe I will try to make one when we get back?!?  Since we put the bed in the room we had to remove a lot of the decorations and wall hanging because he could reach them when he stood on his bed.  Now I need to work on re-vamping his room a little with some new "Big Boy" decorations!

Crewsie will turn 23 months old when we are on vacation and honestly, I need to get my butt in gear and kind of start thinking about his 2nd birthday party!  I'm thinking the theme has to be something along the lines of trucks/cars/planes or something with animals...these are the two things he is most "in to" these days!  Every time he sees a plane in the sky he points and yells "Airplane, Airplane!!!"  His other love is giraffes and elephants!

A VERY interesting week...

WARNING:  Long Post...but I wanted to document exactly what happened!  haha!

Our week started out pretty normal.  Tuesday morning we met our Mommys group at Romp n' Stomp and Tuesday night we had swim class.  We woke up Wednesday morning to beautiful warm, sunny weather so Crew and I headed into Medina to walk around the square.  I decided to stop in the 'All Fired Up' pottery place and it looked like a lot of fun so I decided to let Crewsie paint a plate for himself.  Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me, so no pics...but I will take a pic of the plate once we get it back from being fired.  He loved it and we even put his little hand print on the plate!  Then we went to Dan's Dog House for a yummy hot dog lunch.

We came home, Crewsie took a normal 3 hour nap, ate dinner, gave him his bath, read some stories, put him in his crib and he went to bed.  Greg and I are relaxing on the couch and heard Crew start crying ...this is very abnormal for Crew, but I told Greg he will cry it out and fall back asleep.  Well, next thing we know Crew's bedroom door OPENED!?!?!!?  WHAT JUST HAPPENEND!?!?!?  He climbed out of his crib....I knew then that we were in BIG trouble!  Greg and I look at each other STUNNED and I said you better run upstairs and get him, because I wanted to make sure he wasn't hurt and I didn't want him to stumble down the stairs.  Around 11:30 p.m. I put him back in bed...he was totally calm and he layed down with no problem and I thought "Thank goodness!'  he is finally going to go back to sleep!  I was wrong...10 minutes later he was standing in our room!  He climbed out of his crib again, opened his door, ran down the hall and opened our door and was standing there screaming!  To make a very long story short, he fell asleep with us around 1:00 a.m. and no one got very much sleep that night.

We didn't know what we were going to do, so the next day at nap time I had no choice but to put him in his crib....and he slept for 3 hours and then climbed out of his crib AGAIN!  That made 3 times total and I told Greg that we couldn't risk putting him in his crib anymore.  We tried everything that evening before his bed time.  We tried putting him in his Pack n' Play...he climbed out!  We took apart the bottom of his crib and put his Pack n' Play down on the floor in the crib...he climbed out!  We were shocked!  We were going to try a 'crib tent' but read that those can be very dangerous and kids get hung up on them, so that was no longer an option...we had no choice that night but to let Crew sleep with us again in bed (a habit that I never wanted to start).  It was now Friday morning and since Wednesday I had gotten about 6 hours of sleep and was exhausted.  I knew we had to figure something out and fast.

At first we were going to get a little toddler bed, but then decided against it.  Crew was already starting to grow out of his crib, so I knew the little toddler bed would only last maybe six months, if that.  So we  put our extra queen bed from our spare room into his room.  Friday Crew and I went shopping and got him new sheets, comforter, and a rail for the side of the bed.  We got his room put together Friday evening and all seemed good.  Friday night Crewsie got his bath and I read him his stories and then it was time for bed...in the "Big Boy" bed.  He wanted NOTHING to do with it!  I shut his door, shut the lights off and then climbed in bed and told him to come sleep with Mommy.  He stood in the middle of his room and screamed his head off for 20 minutes (what you have to understand is Crew never does this...he never fights nap time or night time...he loves sleeping!)...after he was completely exhausted from all the crying he crawled up in the bed and finally fell asleep.  Around 3:00 a.m. he cried for Daddy first and then wanted Mommy.  I slept with him the rest of the night in his bed.  Then Saturday we started to turn the corner.  Saturday at nap time I read him a couple of stories and then he fell right asleep in his big boy bed and slept for 4.5 hours!  Saturday night was the same thing....he fell asleep and slept until 8:00 a.m.!!!  Sunday was another great day of nap and night time in the Big Boy bed and Crew is taking a nap as I type!  He now is in love with the big boy bed and he loves cuddling up in it...you can tell he is so much more comfortable in the big bed then in his crib!

I have to admit when this all started Wednesday night I was FREAKING OUT!  I selfishly thought..."Oh my goodness, I'm never going to sleep another normal night again!"  I never thought he would be the type of kid to climb out of his bed and didn't think he was "mature" enough yet to handle sleeping in a normal bed.  I thought Crew would be in a crib for at least another few months...I had no idea that he would be in a big bed so young...but in the end he was ready for the BIG BOY BED!
Valentine's Day!  Crewsie got some new trucks and new clothes from Cupid!

He loves sitting at his little table eating snacks!
Eatin' lunch!
In his new BIG BOY bed after a nap!  Doesn't he look happy!!!
Kisses from Daddy!
He got his first fat lip and was showing it off!
What a stinker!

Valentine's Day Weekend!

We had a great Valentine's Day weekend...very enjoyable and relaxing!  Friday Greg and I went to Main Street Cafe in Medina to celebrate Valentine's Day and our 13 year "dating" anniversary!  Our first date was January 17, 1998!  CRAZY!  We have celebrated almost every one of our anniversaries at Main Street!

Saturday morning me, Yaya, and Auntie Tay went and ordered mine and Tay's bridesmaid dresses for Blake and Casey's wedding in July and then did a little shopping and went to lunch.  Later Saturday night me, Greggy and Crew went and did a little shopping at the mall (we got Crewsie some summer stuff for vacation!) and then went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner.  Crew LOVES chips and salsa...we always get him his own little bowl for dipping!

Sunday we went over to my parents to celebrate my Grammy Fisher's 87th birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAM (Valentine's Day is her birthday)!  We also got great news this week regarding my Popsie Cooper...a few months ago the doctors said it looked like the cancer was 'resolved' and they confirmed it 100% last Thursday!  We are all so thrilled with this fabulous news!  Love ya Pops!
Popa and Yaya got him a drill set, which he won't stop playing with, a huge stuffed animal and some new clothes for vacation!  Aunt TayTay and JoeJoe got Crewsie Mickey flash cards and crayons and a coloring book and Aunt Casey got Crewsie a snuggie and a cute stuffed animal that sings...he got a ton of candy too...which of course he loves!
Crewsie loving his new gun from Popsie and Gram!
After he had some chocolate birthday cake!

Fire Trucks & Police Cars = one happy little boy!

Today we went on a Fire House and Police Station tour at the Bath Police House!  Crew LOVES cars and trucks so he was in hog heaven!  We got to see the 911 dispatch center, the jail! (don't worry, there were no convicts!), and all of the fire trucks and the police cars!  The kids loved it and hopefully we will get to go back in the Summer because the firemen promised the kids could use the hoses!  haha!  That could be interesting!
He honestly thought he was really driving the truck...he kepts saying "Go, go, go!"
I couldn't get him to turn and look at me because he was looking at all of the hoses hanging on the wall!
 Back in the truck!
It was so much fun for the kiddos =)  They gave all of the kids a hat, yoyo's and sunglasses!
Some of the women from our Mommy's group!
My camera died, so I took a couple of Crewsie in the cop car from my camera phone!  Hopefully this is the only time he will be in the back of a cop car!?!?!  hahaha!  As you can see he thought it was great!
In the driver seat of the cop cruiser!
Did not want to take off his fireman's hat or sunglasses the entire way home!
Daddy had an appointment kind of close to home so he stopped by before going back to work!

Swimming with Daddy!

We had swim lessons again Tuesday night and this time Daddy got in the pool with Crew Bear!  Ever since we have been home from Kalahari Crew wakes up everyday saying "swim, swim, swim, swim!"  I hope his love of the water continues forever!  I would love him to stay in swim classes and eventually when he is older join a team and then swim in highschool.  We were on swim teams when we were young and I swam one year in highschool (I wish I never quit!).  It is the best exercise and so good for you!
 kick, kick, kick!

KALAHARI!!!

We are back from Kalahari and oh my goodness did we have a BLAST!  We got back yesterday afternoon and we were all exhausted!  We played at the GIGANTIC indoor waterpark all day Saturday and for most of the afternoon Sunday!  I was having so much fun that these were the only pictures I took...I forgot to take any of our condo suite and very few of us at the park.  I wish I would have gotten more of Crewsie going down the slides and stuff, but we were having too much fun to stop and get the camera!  I did however at least get some video!

Crew absolutely LOVED it!  He loved the little kid slides and kiddie water area and he LOVED the huge wave pool!  He is fearless!  His other favorite was the lazy river ride!  He wasn't afraid of anything...even going under the waterfalls!  We all had a ton of fun and can't wait to go back!  Thanks so much Popa and Yaya!
I took these a couple of hours before we left yesterday!  We were all taking a break and eating some lunch!
Like I said...I didn't get very many good pics!  Oh well!
Crewser ready to go back in!
 Aunt Taytay
Because I didn't take many pictures I cheated and posted some from the Kalarhari Resorts website...their website said it's the largest indoor waterpark in America!
I didn't try the below ride but Tay, Joe and Blake did!
This was my second favorite ride....soooooo much fun!
 Pool bar!
One of the little kids areas...
This ride was my FAVORITE!  You shot down this slide and then swirled around until you plopped out!  When you hit the water below you were completely disoriented!  hahaha!
 "Roller Coaster" ride!
We all loved the racer slides...Blake and I are very competitive and I WON!!!!!!!!!
 Lazy River ride
 The huge wave pool!
So much fun and it was only a little over an hour away from home!  Great getaway during the cold winter months!  We will definitely be going back!

A couple pics of what our condo looked like!  I wish I could find a pic of the outside of the hotel complex...it is honestly the largest hotel I have ever seen!
