Crew's first trip to the library!

Crew and Mommy ventured to the library for the first time yesterday!  I had to get an oil change and since we were so close to the library I thought we could kill some time there.  We have a newer library in town, so it is pretty nice...a cute kids section with lots and lots of books and fun little things to play with!  I also found out while we were there that there is a childrens story time for kids 6-24 months!  Unfortunately, the summer session has already ended, but a new session will start in September so we are looking forward to this come fall!  After the library we walked to one of the coffee shops and split a smoothie...Crewsie loved it!

My maturing 16 month old!

One of Crew's new things is helping Mommy unload the dishwasher!  He just started this a couple weeks ago and now whenever he hears the dishwasher open he wants to help...it takes about five times longer to unload, but it is soooo cute to watch him!  He grabs a plate or silverware and brings it to me with a big smile on his face and then watches me put it in the cabinet!

Crew is also getting good at going up and down stairs while holding onto a railing!  For the last couple months we were always on the edge of our seats when he got by a few stairs, but now he has almost perfected it (but we still watch!).  He is also getting good at maneurvering around the playground...he will go up the steps by himself, across to the slid and get on his tummy and then slide down all by himself (again, you can see on his face how proud he is of his little self!).  Crewsie is also starting to love books.  He was always interested in them, but now I can see he is actually understanding and enjoying them more!  I will be sitting on the couch or in his room and say "Get Crewsie a book!" and he will run over pick one out and then climb up on my lap and will sit and listen!  I really see a big difference over the last month and how much our little man is "maturing!"
I can do it!
Loves swinging like this with me...holds on like a little monkey!

Huron Riverfest ...

A couple weeks ago we drove up to the Huron Riverfest...it is a little festival right on the Huron River boat basin.  There were some carnival rides and lots of good food...Crew even got a taste of a funnel cake....YUMMY!  Crewsie had his first carousel ride and really liked it!  Then we went to a nearby park right on Lake Erie...there is a great view of the lake, a small beach, and a nice playground for kids!
Round and round we go!
I like this!!!
Momma taking Crewsie for a slide ride!  Going up!
We got going pretty fast...he held onto me so tight, just like a little monkey!!!
Grandma negotiating with the carnival lady...pretty funny!

Of course he wanted to climb on the rocks...yikes!

HAPPY 60TH ANNIVERSARY TO MY GRANDPARENTS!

My grandparents are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today, July 21st!  What a wonderful example of a married couple for anyone to aspire to!  Gram and Popsie mean so much to me and my entire family!

I started thinking about this little fact this morning...Popsie and Gram are highschool sweethearts, my parents are highschool sweethearts, Greg and I started dating in highschool, as well as, Taylor and Joe and Blake and Casey...pretty AMAZING that we all met our spouses in highschool!!!!!

I know you guys check the blog almost everyday so enjoy your day...Crewsie says "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Gram and Pops!!!!!"  XOXO

Coloring Fun...

It was a rainy afternoon, so while Crewsie and I were at the grocery store Mommy picked up some markers (washable!) and a big coloring pad!  Crew seemed to enjoy just playing with the markers and walking around with them...not much coloring actually happened...oh well!  This activity Mommy was exciting for, but it is still a little early for Crew!

We have been having a lot of fun playing outside the last couple of weeks...it has been a HOT and muggy summer so we try to get in the water as much as possible!  Popa and Yaya belong to a country club, where thankfully, we are able to swim...yay!  We have a lot of fun out there swimming with Yaya and Auntie Tay :)  Crew continues to eat very well (obviously, look at his size...haha!).  The other night we had a cookout and he ate some hamburger, tomatoes (still loves them!), and watermelon.  Momma also discovered that he likes this vegetable yougurt cheese that we get out at the farmers market.  While I was at the dentist yesterday we scheduled Crew for his FIRST dental check-up for September 7th....I'm anxious to see how this goes!?!?

A couple camera phone pics...

Crewsie playing outside tonight!  Crew and Momma did a little shopping today...it was HOT AGAIN and I just wasn't in the mood to swim, so some shopping we did!  We have a wedding next week and I have been looking for a little outfit...with NO luck!  There are TONS of little girls dresses and absolutely nothing dressy for a little man...oh well, we will figure something out!

This picture is of Crew with a little basketball up his shirt...he thinks it is hysterical!  Once it finally wiggles its way out he brings it to us to put back under his shirt...again and again and again!!!!!!

Lazzzzzy days of summer...

My most favorite days are the ones where Crew and I hang out at home and relax!  It was HOT this day...and Crewsie was having so much fun just running around the backyard playing peek-a-boo behind the bushes, splashing in the pool, and running around the sprinkler!  Auntie Tay and Uncle Joe bought this froggie pool for Crew and he loved the little water feature on the front !  I kept trying to get him to say "ribbit, ribbit" but he just kept laughing at me!
My little goofball!
I will NEVER forget these couple pictures that I took of him while we were swinging together.  He was so content and just kept sitting there sipping his water while I talked to him.  I was telling him that Mommy will always be his buddy and how much I loved him.  I swear he knew exactly what I was saying...he just kept looking at me and it was like he was telling me back with his sweet blue eyes "I know Momma, I love you too!"
You can tell he is kind of holding his breath...the water was pretty cold coming out of the sprinkler!
