Two weeks ago we headed for Sandusky to launch the boat! It was a cool Spring day, but perfect for getting the boat in the water and to the dock. Daddy headed up a little early (because Crew's 3 yr. check up was the same morning) and then me and Crewsie picked up Grammy and drove up. Greggy and I motored the boat to the marina, which only took about 10 minutes. Since this was our "maiden voyage" we thought it was safest for Grammy and Crew to stay on solid ground and wait for us at the marina! There were only a few other boats at the marina and we were the first sailboat. The marina where we dock is great...Cedar Point is right across the bay, Kelly's Island and Put-in-Bay are close, there are lots of wineries around, and we have a great pool right at the marina too! Everything went well and now we can't wait to start sailing!
So, I started reminiscing while looking back at old photos. Thought I would post a few to show our first boat! We bought it in 1999 and sold it in 2010. I can't believe we had it that long...it was A LOT of work to say the least. Our new boat is fiberglass and much easier to maintain! But nothing beats the look of a wooden boat...soooo pretty!
Daddy worked his butt off getting this boat to look like this. It was sitting in an old boat yard about to be burned because it was in such bad shape (I wish I could have found a before pic!).
These below pics are from 2004 right after we got Tiki! Had to post because she was so darn cute! We took her to the boat every weekend!
Love that little fluff ball!
