Crew's First day of kindergarten...

I was so good with keeping our little family blog up to date for a long time but I've fallen so far behind!  So while it would be nearly impossible to go back and post everything, I'm going to try to post some milestones :)....like Crew's first day of kindergarten!!!
Last summer was pure chaos and craziness between moving and all of the renovations we did to the house.  When fall approached I was so nervous for my buddy to start school...had we spent enough quality time together over the summer?  Was he ready?  Was I ready? How would Capri react to him being gone?  I was scared, nervous, excited, happy, sad, stressed, and honestly, kinda depressed that he was going to be gone for almost seven hours everyday.  This kid had been by my side every day for 6.5 years...he's my buddy, my lunch date, my helper, and on and on.  I was scared for him and me...I felt like we would be lost without one another. Well, it turns out we both did pretty good...actually I cried (after he got on the bus and drove away) and he smiled and waved goodbye!  I missed him so much every day for the first month...it was a huge adjustment.  A way bigger adjustment for me than for him.  I still miss him everyday and will never be 100% comfortable for him being gone so long every week day.  Honestly, I hate it but never let him know that.  Crew on the other hand has done excellent!  He loves school...has made many friends...gets excellent grades...and his teacher absolutely loves him and calls him her "rule follower."  I'm also so glad we decided to "hold" him...I think it has made all of the difference.  He's so mature and smart and we are so very proud of him.  Now we are towards the end of the year and he's getting a little burnt out...the days are long 9:00am-3:30pm.  We are counting down the days until spring break and then the end of the year!
Mommy and daddy soooo nervous and big boy soooo excited :). We thought he would want us to take him to school the first day but he wanted to ride the bus!

A lot of my friends had kids starting kindergarten so we all met for breakfast so we could cry together!
The last pic is when he got home from school his first day :)
